Living Fit Mommy: Off The Wall and Completely Grounded

This week has been endlessly more rewarding than the last. I managed to stay on track with both my diet and my workouts without much interference. So I’m pretty proud of myself.

My reward for being so dedicated and disciplined is a much needed day off from lifting a weight or going through even one HIIT circuit.

It’s important to take time away from your routine whenever you can, in order to avoid burnout.

As much as I enjoy exercising and weight training, I know my effectiveness in the gym can be bolstered or hindered based on the decisions I make regarding days off.

If I take too many, I feel a regression in my overall strength and endurance. But if I don’t take enough, I find I’m more sluggish and less focused on my routine.

It’s a delicate balance to strike, but it’s a necessary evil if you want to be effective and see results.

In any event, it’s back to the grind tomorrow, but for today I’m perfectly satisfied just taking it easy–and getting stronger for the next time I hit the racks—and doing my personal version of the “Pretty Girl Rock”.
