I won’t speak for anyone else, but I love food! And I’m willing to bet a few bucks that a lot of “fit” people love it too. I can be hella honest when I say the hardest part of my day sometimes is choosing the strawberries over the chips, or the tofu stir fry over the meat lovers pizza (even though I don’t eat meat!).
For me, the battle between my love of food and my love of being fit is one I take on constantly. And though I choose the latter more than the former, that doesn’t mean it’s not hard as hell!
The first rule for anyone undertaking this lifestyle, in my humble opinion, is not to believe it’s going to be a cakewalk. You will be challenged, there will be days you’ll want to quit, and there are certainly going to be moments where your choices won’t mimic your decision to be a healthier individual–it is what it is.
My advice is not to beat yourself up too much because you’re certainly not alone in that regard and nothing about being fit, strong, and healthy implies being perfect, infallible, or free from the pull of over-indulgence.
Fit may be the best life to lead, but don’t think for one minute that it’s all roses because sometimes it can be a real pain in the ass–in my opinion, of course 🙂
