My goal for this week is to exhibit more willpower. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been a bit lackadaisical with my snacking habits—some of that is attributable to laziness with my food prep habits, and some of it is about my cravings (for both salt and sugar) being in high gear—so this week I made sure to get my food prep done in a timely manner.
Willpower is always easier said than done, but you have to force yourself to remain disciplined—even when your eyes are leading you to want something you know you’ll regret later—because if you don’t, you’ll end up unnecessarily berating yourself about all the little mistakes you’ve made and how each one has contributed to your utter disgust with the downward direction your body has taken…or, then again, maybe that’s just me.
My prep menu for the week included an all vegetarian diet, centered around protein and good carbs; I plan to hit the weights harder and heavier this week, so the extra protein is a definite must; and carbs are the No. 1 source of energy and I plan to expend a great deal of that as well.
In any case, I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to stay the course and get my ass back on track.
