Living Fit Mommy: Your “Fit” Isn’t My “Fit”

I love lifting and doing HIIT workouts, but that ain’t for everybody. Find what you like and stick to it.

People ask me the following question a lot: how do you do to stay fit?

My response is pretty patent: I do a combination of high-intensity cardio workouts, coupled with dedicated strength training, at least 4-5 days per week. Those are the things that have worked for me, over the years, and even though I’ve dabbled in other trades—yoga, pilates, Tabata, CrossFit, Zumba, etc.—I always come back to what’s worked and what I enjoy doing the most—weights and HIIT.

The twist to that is over the years I’ve stolen elements of everything to keep things fresh. There is no one true discipline where getting/maintaining your fitness level is concerned. The only thing it takes to find success is a commitment to your regimen and moderation in your diet.

That said, when choosing how you plan to attack your fitness goals, be sure to start by choosing something you like to do.  If you hate weights, but love Pilates, by all means, do Pilates!

The important thing is that you do something and stick with it. Period.
